Reef Ring
This solid recycled silver ring is inspired by the stunning displays of architecture you see within colourful and healthy reefs. The coral is interconnected, physically with its structure but also with the colony that lives inside.
The coral provides the algae with a protected environment and compounds they need for photosynthesis. They are called micro-algae (macro-algae is seaweed) and can double in mass in just 24 hours! They might save our future due to their stability in water sources of any size. They can soak up heavy metals, metabolising them into safer chemicals - something humans have had no way of disposing of until now. These undesirable heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, among others) are produced during the mining process of precious metals and gemstones, and can cause landslides, acid rain, and water pollution.
This item is made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the processing, manufacture, packaging, and shipping of your jewellery.
You can request different sizes, metals and gemstones or even fully bespoke designs using the contact section of my website. If you do decide to change anything, the piece would become bespoke, extending the lead time to 8-10 weeks. Your piece may arrive with you much sooner than this, but we always allow a longer timeframe to account for any delays in the production process.
